Evolution of The Internet

Web 1.0 is the first stage of the World Wide Web. This is the first step in the evolution of the internet.

Web 2.0 is the second step in the evolution of the internet. This is the step that included websites and applications that were user generated. These websites include Wiki, Facebook, Twitter, and blogs like the one I am on right now.

How can Web 2.0 technologies be utilized for education?  Web 2.o technologies can be utilized for education in various ways. The first is through blogs. Teachers can have students use blogs to create posts and participate in discussions with students. Another way is to create a private facebook class page. This page can include posts from the teacher and students where students can ask questions and have discussions. Students can also create a project or presentation with the application Prezi. This is a more engaging technology than just an average PowerPoint and a great way for students to collaborate.

How can Web 3.0 technologies be utilized for education? The first example of a web 3.0 technology in education is a virtual 3D library. This is a great way for students to engage and use technological skills to create a 3D library. Students can also use technologies to create virtual worlds. This is a great way for students to engage and collaborate in project based learning.
